Got Noodle?
As heard on 'Have I Got News For You' (the repeat) last night, during a conversation regarding reports that some Welsh citizens found the new Pot Noodle ad to be racist:
"I see that Pot Noodle are launching their product in Korea, and are bringing out a new vegetarian flavour of their infamous product especially for the Koreans, they're going to call it 'Not Poodle'." (cue endless hilarious variations of Pot/Not/Poodle/Noodle from Merton and Hislop).
Geddit? Genius, no? Kthxbye.

ew, pot noodle is for knacks! I am so horrible but really, pot noodle? How anyone can think that some dried flour in noodle shapes with a load of MSG slathered all over it tastes good is just beyond me!

Did you know that all Pot Noodles (that's ALL of them) are completely vegetarian? Even the beef and chicken 'flavour' ones? They contain absolutely no animal products whatsoever. So they're not all bad. :-)

they are still pretend flavours, it's far from Pot Noodle that you were raised my dear bro'!!!

I will have to get on to the residents committee to let them know there is a pot noodle consumer moving into the area.
Think of the damage to our property values!!!!

I never said I was a Not Poodle consumer SK, I only said I could eat them if I had to, as they don't contain no meat.
From looking at the ingredients on Koka Noodles, I reckon Pot Noodles might actually be better for you than Koka, as they actually contain actual vegetables. I still dunno if I'll ever actualy eat one though. Maybe some day.

Yeah Koka noodles are for knacks too, anything that you reconstitute with water is just plain wrong

Wrong? Yes. Convenient? Definitely. We're not all (ex-)chefs, Babs. Sometimes we only have five minutes and noodles are perfect, especially if you stir in an egg and a few fried scallions... Mmmm.

yeah but you can get proper ones and they only take 5 mins as well, it just makes me sad to see people eat shit, especially my bro! I do like the noodle, fried egg and scallion combo though! yum! (but with real noodles!!)

I'm with sister Verso here. Their is no real excuse for eating pot noodles. You may as well eat the newspaper. Even maccyd's is better.

"anything that you reconstitute with water is just plain wrong"
One word, Porridge
:-)
Posted by: sliabh | June 14, 2006 11:03 PM
Porridge is not reconstituted, just FYI, it needs water to be digestable, like rice and pasta, try eating these uncooked, you will soon see what I mean. Unless of course you are eating "Ready Brek" or whatever its called, which I strongly suspect you are, that is reconstituted porridge, and is also plain wrong.

PS: Also it's incredibly lazy, it actually takes pretty much the same amount of time to cook the two. Also, thanks Adrian, but what is this "maccyd's" you speak of?
Posted by: Babs | June 15, 2006 8:50 AM
I believe Ade is referring to "Maccy D's", aka "Mc'D's", a colloqualism for McDonalds. I think Pot Noodle beats Mc'Ds for nutritional value, but I could be wrong.

oh yeah see I wouldn't know about abbreviations for those fast food type places, as I wouldnt (even if I am very drunk) be seen dead in one of them, only the wonderful chipper on Parnell Street, or The Embassy Grill (mmm) but that's only VERY rarely!!

That whole segment on Have I Got News For You? was some of the funniest tv i've seen in a long time.
