VERSO (The Band??)
Apparently so, yes I know it is the coolest name in the world, but there is a BAND?? In Finland, I found these by accident the other night while hanging out with my friend Suzi Blue (*not her real name ? the Blue bit) anyway she had asked me over to her apartment to sing for her (yes I know, weird you may say but this is what was happening) she is in a band and heard me drunkenly warbling on Saturday at the BBQ in my house, and thought that I sounded lovely so I went over and drank red wine and was merry and sang, so we were kind of drunk and decided that we were forming a band, and were like ?what will we call the band!?? so we decided on Verso and found these dudes, some Finnish type metallers, they seem to be very Finnish, I am amazed, so we couldn?t use that so we decided on The Heroes, and as you can guess there was a band called that too, so what will we do?? Ideas on a postcard please!
So yeah a band called Verso, what were the chances??

What did you expect, naming a band after a Toyota...
How about "Mondeo"? ;-)

You're missing the point I think, Gordon (although it wasn't exactly illustrated for those who didn't know), which is that Verso is myself and Babs' surname. So you can imagine we were mightily pissed off when Toyota named their most boring and ugly line of cars after us.
We don't mind that there's Metal band named after us so much though.

How about elaborating a little... something along the lines of VersoTyle. (Versatile, geddit?) Or Madness Versonified. Ok, I'll get my coat on the way out.

Then you know it makes sense, Babs! Versotyle it should be... :-)

I remember Mark & Lard running a competition on Radio 1 for good band names, and one of the ones I remember still was Pigeons of Doom.
Also an idea that some mates and I had in a pub a while back is to have a band name like 'The Horny Devils' or whatever, and then when you're introduced at a gig, say, 'Hi we're The Devils, and, uh, hey - thanks. Not so bad yourself.'
That one might have seemed better after beer.
My High School physics teachers' teen band was 'Uranium Cabbage'. That's probably still up for grabs.
Some friends of mine at High School had a band called Hightown Crow, and they wouldn't say how they got the name until I saw it on a roadsign somewhere in Hampshire and they admitted it. So I present you with something I see on the drive down from Providence every month or so:
Downtown Mystic

Downtown Mystic is so far my favourite, ooh I love this it's so cool, I still wish that I could have used "Verso"!! Uranium Cabbage made me laugh so that water came out my nostrils though!! Hmmm, so many choices!

Tee-hee indeed Annie! I just tried "Matt+Babs", and I got "Decadent Matt Babs of the Methodical Fault"! Weird.
