Commenting Problems
Yo dudes (and esteemed dudettes).
I've had a couple of complaints from some people who have been having problems commenting. This is due to my host upgrading some bits and bobs, to stop the enormous amount of spam I've been getting. Basically, it boils down to this:
JAVASCRIPT MUST BE TURNED ON TO COMMENT.
From now on, if you haven't got Javascript turned on, you won't be able to comment. I have made this more obvious by putting a big notice box in the comment form, stating as much, but to minimise intrusions, I've mucked around with the code so that this box will only appear when you haven't got the Java turned on. The little Java elves will be checking, and if you don't turn it on, you won't get any presents for Christmas (or be able to comment, either).
I hope this works properly, so if anyone's got any problems or still can't comment for some reason, let me know.

Wahey! People are commenting again. Even if they're just test comments.
Unfortunately, the person who matters most (namely Nikki) is still having problems. I blame Internet Explorer. :-P

Well, you should've gotten a mail from the aforementioned Mr. Sevitz telling you what to do. Basically you just need to throw the "preview" button in the bin, and it should all be ok. Adding the big yellow "turn JS on you numpty!" box is just me wanting to be schmancy.
(yes, Adrian, that was me calling you schmancy too :-P)

The JavaScript warning appears even though I have it turned on. I will know in a few moments whether I have enough compatibility despite that.

I wish that someone would comment on the Mutant Ninja Bum story, it's very interesting you know! About a bum who lives on my doorstep (fact!)

QE: Are you using Firefox? There also seems to be a problem if you are using any version of IE before v7. But it looks like your comment went through so you must be alright.
Upgrade dudes! Use Firefox! It rocks (and IE7 is like, okay-ish)!

Firefox 1.5.0.8 (as far as I'm concerned 1.5 isn't missing anything, so no hurry for v2). I don't get the warning any more, incidentally.

You're not using 2.0? But how do you know if what you type is spelled correctly? How do you cope with having to remember what tabs you had open when your computer crashes?! Etc, etc!!!
2.0 is definitely better. 1.5 was grand like, but I definitely wouldn't go back.

Hmm... Can't say I'd ever wanted a spell checker, although it won't hurt to have one. The crashing thing sounds good.
Trying it now.

The crashing thing is brilliant. And even better, if you just switch your computer off with your Firefox window open, next time you turn on your machine and start Firefox, you can resume your session with all the tabs you had previously.
Genius.
And the spell checker really is great, but just make sure you go ahead and install a British language dictionary.
