YEAAAaaaa- Music was far better this time!! And the ol' married couple presenting werent bad either :-) Really enjoyed this one!

We had a lot more fun with this one, it has to be said. And as we say during the talky bits this time, there might have been a little too much hip-hop for many peoples' tastes in version 1.0.

But thanx Nikki! You're biased though. :-P

Yea but I actually delayed my lunch so I could hear the rest...now I NEVER do that. So :-P

Nice mix. Here's hoping the pod police don't squeeze you down to bite-sized teaser tracks. If that happens, you should offer special pointers to the real editions for addicted listeners.

Err... thanks. And like, what do you mean by "Here's hoping the pod police don't squeeze you down to bite-sized teaser tracks. If that happens, you should offer special pointers to the real editions for addicted listeners."?!?!

I don't get it. It's called "fair use", isn't it? Anyhoo I don't care. :-P

thats not very nice Matt.whers youre christmas cheer.
im sure that person was only tryin to help.
anyway,catch ye later dude.

Don't get me wrong--I like your podwars mix but I've had my fair share of copyright letters over the past decade and you're wading right into the sharks with your fair use playlist defense.

The lads on the Irish Opencast mailing list can share some stories if you want more details.

If you're getting downloads on more than three continents, you're one step away from a MusicIP hoover sussing out what's buttering the toast.

Thanks for the mix. Subscribed.

I'm getting downloads on three continents, but not more than three, as far as I'm aware, so I might be alright. :-)

If they really want to come after me, they can. I know that it's not strictly legal, but if they claim that I'm infringing copyright and taking away from their record sales, I'll tell them they're talking out of their ass. I got 43 downloads of the podcast last time. If they want to sue me for ?6.50 or so (approx what I reckon they've "lost" by people listening to our 'cast), they're even more stupid than I thought.

Anyhoo, thanks for the advice, and thanks for the thanks!

Hey, it streamed to my iTunes! technology, eh? I'll go listen to it, then.

Yes Matt I think what we do IS technically illegal and if anyone ever listened to us we would probably get a letter asking us to stop. However we'd need to have a pretty significant audience size for that to happen, so I think it unlikely, no offense. You can't break a law if no-one notices you enough to care, in other words.

Technology does indeed rock, Dan.

It is "technically" illegal, but if I was to give ?25/year to IMRO, I could do it legally. But there's no infrastructure set up for podcasters to pay royalties on a per listener basis (see "online music use" on the IMRO site). And I'm not sure how it would work for listeners outside Ireland.

43 people downloaded our last podcast. I think Dan's has slightly more. I don't think the music industry will be banging on our door anytime soon.

43??? On three continents? Jealous...
