New Car!
Okay, so it's very similar to my old car. But please note: Newer model, twice (nearly) the horsepower, tasty wheels, and loads of optional new shiny bits. And a lot like, newer. And shinier. And with less (as in none) dents and scratches.
Yay! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to give it a bit of a run-in, courtesy of the M50 and the back roads of Co. Wicklow.

Did I mention the traction control? I didn't, did I? It also has traction control.
And you can turn it off too.
Took it for a good run tonight, down to Kill (Co. Kildare). Let's just say if you give it the beans, it goes like shit off a shovel.
Not that I gave it the beans, oh no, Garda. I was taking it well handy.

Are those double yellow lines you are parked on? ;-)

I got to have a go, I got to have a go!! It does go like shit off a shovel as well, apart from when I cut it out at a junction - I am just used to my pocket rocket taking off full steam ahead without any acceleration.

That''' be the sports-type clutch Babs, so you have to give the accelerator a squirt when you're taking off. And speaking of the Pocket Rocket, when are we going to see a pic or three of your new baby?
Yes, Seamus, they are double-yellow lines. I had to pull it out of the parking space to get a good picture. But then I pulled straight back in.

Traction Control? Ya big wimp!
If ever you are over this way then you'll have to have a drive in the Type-R... ;-)

You can switch off the TC Sharky. :-P
And err... yeah! I shall totally remind you of that like, if I ever do make it over.

Shiny! YAY for new cars...
And the Type-R is overrated, goes like shit off a shovel fer sure but the ride is HARSH.
God, I AM getting old!

The ride on the Type-R is a little harsh and not well suited to some of the lesser roads over here... but find a good road (i.e. decent tarmac) and it can shoot well above its level. The new civic Type-R (especially the GT version) is a lot more refined and softer!
I was only pulling your leg mate; nothing wrong with TC. You can always turn it off (as you say) when you fancy a little tyre-burning fun!

It seems to be one of those really nice TC systems where you can spin the tires a wee bit if you really want to, so it's alright like, y'know? But yeah, you can turn it off. :-)
And the ride is a LOT
harderfirmer in the Sports Ibiza than in the regular one that Nikki has (yes, we both have Ibizas, aren't we sad?).Posted by: Matt | April 2, 2007 9:16 PM
