Toast Force Five

Lifewithouttoastcast5.jpg

Jesus Christ, that was a while in coming, wasn't it? I mean, the last one was when, April 20th?

LAST YEAR?

Well, I say a while, but as I mention during the show, this one actually went together in record time (once we sat down to actually put it together), thanks to some new equipment and a the fact that we had done some work on a lot of the track choices and mixes previously. Err... Anyhoo...

Wrap your listening organs around it right here.

Right-click the link and select "download", Or press the little blue "Play" button to play it right through your browser (if that's still working... Hey look! It is).

(UPDATE: Now includes MT4 podcast player thingy!)

(UPDATE: iTunes feed is now working again! In iTunes, go to "Advanced>Subscribe to Podcast" and paste in this link: http://lifewithouttoast.com/Lifewithouttoastcast.xml )

My advice for this one is to TURN THAT SHIT UP LOUD. It's a lively one.

Work/Blog Collision

I just got off the phone with Conn Ó Muíneacháin of Digiculture.ie, who is recording an event in my little theatre for the Dun Laoghaire Library Service, for a podcast. It's the first time I've ever had a work conversation with someone who recognised my name more from blogging and podcasting than from my vast theatrical repertoire.

Does this mean I'm famous (for podcasting I mean)? Or just that Ireland is very, very small?

He was very disappointed that we hadn't recorded a new podcast for a long while. I (and by I, I mean we) must get onto that soon.

For those of you who are eagerly awaiting a new Lifewithouttoastcast, we have most of the content figured out, the playlist is fairly sorted (and totally fucking rocks), we're just waiting for our new state-of-the-art recording facility (Andy's new house) to be finished being built. We could do it in my office at home, but we kinda sorta tried that already and the creative juices didn't flow sufficiently, or some similar pathetic excuse.

Toastcasting Update!

Well, myself and Andy were up until about 2.30am this morning getting the podcast finished and produced. I'm totally knackered today, wandering around in a bit of a daze (but not in any way compromising the health or safety of anyone where I work, due to my extreme awesomeness).

Toastcasting

I finally got around to having a good play around with Audacity last night, in preparation for when I get around to lashing a proper podcast together, if only to stop Dan pestering me about it (actually, mostly to see if I can come up with something interesting). It's ridiculously easy to use, and definitely a lot easier than I thought it would be. I was able to throw together twenty minutes of a decent mix with dialogue and tracks in about 45 minutes. I reckon a half-hour show would be just about right, which means only about 5 tracks per show, with some banter and stuff in between. I'm trying to get Andy on board to be the co-host, as I reckon just me talking and playing tracks would be interminably boring. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. Babs will also almost definitely make a guest appearance or three (I haven't mentioned it to her though, and how do you make an 'appearance' if no-one can see you anyway?!).

Audacity-logo.jpgAnyhoo. I probably won't get a chance to actually do the recording bit for quite a while (at least a couple of weeks), so in the meantime, I'm putting some stuff down on paper. If anyone has any requests for tracks (that aren't something everyone's heard before) then let me know at the address at the bottom of the page. I've got quite a few ideas already, but I'm totally open to suggestions. If I have more than enough for two or three shows before I make the first show, well, there might even be a second show. But we'll see how the first one goes first.

Crunchy Nut Cornflakes on standby.

This blog looks totally, utterly pants in Internet Explorer. So stop making excuses and download Firefox (or even Opera or Safari)) right now (unless you already have).
